1997

  • Emilio Azcárraga Milmo-president of the company for more than 25 years, and creator of the leading media group in the Spanish-speaking world-passes away. Emilio Azcárraga Jean becomes president of the company.

1995

  • VISAT (now Televisa Networks) is created. VISAT produces and distributes channels for pay television operators in Mexico and abroad.

1993

  • Televisa holds its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange.

1991

  • Televisa holds its initial public offering on the Mexican Stock Exchange.

1985

  • Channel 8 changes its signal and becomes XEQ Channel 9.
